This event is Postponed until February 3rd! City Council has decided to HOLD all ordinances until the next scheduled in-person City Council meeting on Tuesday, February 3 at 4 PM at City Hall (125 N. Main St.). In light of that, we are RESCHEDULING our press conference to Tuesday, February 3 at 3 PM IN-PERSON outside City Hall.
Your comrades and siblings in labor need you, yes YOU specifically, to turn out. Right now, your fellow workers in the Memphis Public Libraries are barred from the same civil service protections and collective bargaining rights that other city workers enjoy. But, you can help change that!

On Tuesday, February 3rd, City Council will vote on an ordinance to put civil service protections for library workers on the ballot later this year. You, your coworkers, your neighbors, and everyone who supports libraries and organized labor are needed at City Hall to show Council that Memphis stands with library workers and organized labor.
Turn out at 3 PM for an in-person press conference led by library workers and labor and faith leaders. By 4 PM, join library workers and community members to pack the Council chambers to demand a YES vote!
Library workers have a real shot at winning—but Council needs to see that Memphis is indeed a union town and that working people won't accept anything less than full support for organized labor from its leaders. When library workers win, all working people in Memphis win.
See you and your comrades on Tuesday, February 3rd @ 3 PM!
